“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” - John 1:5
The needs and challenges of our modern world often feel like
an encroaching, suffocating darkness. We look at cultural decay, personal
trials, or institutional failures and wonder how the light of Christ can
possibly push back such an overwhelming tide. The human temptation is to view
light and darkness as two equal, opposing forces locked in a cosmic tug-of-war,
leaving us anxious about which side will win.
But physics tells a profoundly different story. In the study
of the physical universe, darkness is not a force at all. It has no mass, no
speed, no energy, and no measurable power. It is merely the absence of light.
Light, on the other hand, is an absolute constant, traveling at an astonishing
299,792 kilometers per second. When light enters a room, darkness does not
fight back; it simply ceases to exist. It collapses instantly.
There are seasons in life where the shadows seem impossibly
long, but the Lord is inviting you to recognize the true nature of His light.
You do not need to fight the darkness on its own terms; you simply need to
introduce the Light.
- Competence:
Understand the absolute theological reality that God’s truth is the
supreme constant.
- Character:
Eliminate fear and exchange it for the daily habit of
reflecting His light.
- Commitment:
Endure faithfully in shadowed places, refusing to hide your faith.
- Consciousness:
Awaken to the eternal reality that Christ’s light resides in you,
transforming your awareness from anxiety to unshakable victory.
